Whichever platform you're on, it takes three steps:
arm64 build fits the vast majority of phones from recent years; pick v7a for older devices or x64 for emulators. Not sure? Start with arm64.Verstro currently has no native iOS app. You can import your subscription into a supported third-party client such as Shadowrocket. Your account, plan, and usage remain governed by Verstro server rules, while available features and experience depend on the third-party client, OS, and network environment.

https_proxy set, run curl ifconfig.me. If it returns the server IP instead of your local public IP, that terminal request used the current tunnel. This result alone does not prove that every app is captured.
Available as .deb / .rpm / AppImage (x86_64; an arm64 .deb is also provided).

It uses rules to decide whether traffic connects directly or through a proxy server. Local networks and services suited to direct access stay direct, while traffic that needs a proxy uses the server; it is suited to browsing, work, streaming, and long-running connections.
It sends internet traffic that has entered Verstro through the current server, except reserved system addresses, local networks, and required bypasses. It does not expand traffic capture automatically; use it for temporary troubleshooting or a consistent exit IP.
It changes the operating system proxy setting so browsers and other software that follow the system proxy enter Verstro. It does not create a Virtual NIC, but some terminal tools, Git, Docker, games, and desktop apps ignore it.
It creates a virtual network interface and captures traffic at the OS network layer, covering software that does not read System proxy settings. The first use may require administrator authorization and can conflict with other VPNs, proxies, or security software; it still works with Smart routing.

Recommended day-to-day desktop setup: Smart routing + System proxy on + Virtual NIC on. Factory default is System proxy on and Virtual NIC off; turn on Virtual NIC when you need it. If Virtual NIC conflicts with another VPN or security software, turn it off temporarily and keep System proxy; restore the recommended setup and reconnect after troubleshooting.
On mobile, the Android / iOS system VPN tunnel performs traffic capture, so the desktop System proxy and Virtual NIC toggles are not shown. Choose an outbound mode and server instead.

Buy a subscription in the account console or inside the app, pay in USDT (TRC20), and it activates automatically after on-chain confirmation. Once signed in, the client fetches server configuration by itself — no files to import. After renewing or switching plans, reconnect once and the change takes effect.
One switch on the main screen: on to connect (the best route is chosen automatically), off to disconnect. While connected, the app shows live speed and latency.
This is a core Verstro desktop capability. A system proxy only covers apps that read proxy settings, mainly browsers. Virtual NIC (TUN) can capture more traffic at the OS network layer; terminal commands such as ping, git, and brew, Docker, and some desktop or Electron apps can use the encrypted path according to the active mode and rules. Coverage depends on the OS, app, rules, and network environment.
Servers are deployed redundantly across multiple regions and providers. On the Standard tier, the client picks the best route automatically (latency testing + failover); the Pro tier additionally unlocks manual server selection, so you can pin a preferred route. The server list updates automatically with your subscription — no maintenance on your side.
One account signs in on every platform. Concurrent device limits follow your plan tier (Standard 5, Pro 10 — the purchase page is authoritative). Devices idle for a long time yield their slot automatically; no manual removal needed.
Sign in to the account console; the My subscription card shows your subscription link with a QR code. You may import it into compatible clients such as Shadowrocket, Clash Meta, sing-box, or Stash. Support and available features depend on the current client and configuration format; account usage and plan duration follow Verstro server rules. The link is a credential; if it leaks, use Reset subscription link in the console.
Plans come in two tiers, Standard / Pro, each with monthly / quarterly / yearly billing. Payment is in USDT (TRC20): after placing an order, transfer the exact amount shown on the order page from your own wallet (imToken / TronLink / Trust Wallet, etc.); the subscription activates automatically after on-chain confirmation, and orders are listed in the console. The desktop client checks for updates and notifies you when a new version is available; you can also grab the latest installer from the download section on the home page anytime and install over the top (your data and sign-in are kept).
Trouble after installing over the top?If the app won't open, crashes, or can't connect after an upgrade, fully uninstall the old version first, then install the new one and sign in again — your account and subscription live in the cloud and won't be lost.Smart routing applies rules to choose direct or proxy traffic; Global proxy sends internet traffic already captured by Verstro through the current server. Global proxy is not the same as whole-device capture.
No. Global proxy only changes how traffic that has entered Verstro leaves; System proxy and Virtual NIC determine which traffic is captured.
They may stay on together, and that is the recommended daily setup for the most complete coverage. If Virtual NIC conflicts, temporarily keep only System proxy.
Check the System proxy and Virtual NIC capture toggles, outbound mode, current server, and other VPNs; then disconnect and reconnect.
OS administrator privilege is required to create the virtual network interface. Verstro only asks for system authorization and does not receive or store your account password.
Temporarily disable Virtual NIC when it conflicts with another VPN or security software, networking is abnormal after waking from sleep, or you only need a browser.
Choose Smart routing, turn on System proxy and Virtual NIC, then disconnect and reconnect to restore the recommended desktop setup.
The mobile OS VPN tunnel already performs traffic capture, so desktop toggles are absent; you mainly choose an outbound mode and server.
Work through these in order:
① Switch to a different server in the list and retry (individual routes can fluctuate temporarily);
② Toggle the connection switch off and on again (rebuilds routing);
③ On desktop, turn “Virtual NIC” off and back on (recreates the virtual interface);
④ Check for other proxy / security software (another VPN, a firewall) conflicting with Verstro, and quit it first;
⑤ Still stuck? Share your platform and symptoms in the community group.
Do not handle every alert the same way. For an unverified developer or an app Apple cannot check for malicious software, first verify the official source, architecture, version, and SHA-256, then decide for that single app using Apple’s current interface. Delete and download again if it is damaged, modified, or the hash differs; stop if macOS says it will damage your computer or contains malware. Do not disable Gatekeeper globally or treat xattr as a universal fix. See the alert-specific steps and risks.
Click "More info" → "Run anyway". This is Windows' standard prompt for newly published software; download only from the official site dl.verstro.com to be sure of the source.
Run sudo apt install libfuse2 first (or your distro's FUSE2 package) and make sure the file is chmod +x. Running the AppImage from a terminal shows the actual error. Ubuntu / Debian users are better off with the .deb package.
There is currently no native Verstro iOS app. Follow the iOS guide to import your subscription into a supported third-party client such as Shadowrocket. Available features and experience depend on the third-party client, OS, and network environment.
Yes. After signing up and verifying your email, claim the trial in the account console (or inside the app). It activates instantly; the exact allowance is as shown on the claim page. One trial per account.

Activation is automatic once the USDT (TRC20) transfer arrives and confirms on-chain — usually within minutes. If it takes long, open “Order history” in the console and verify the amount; get help in the community group.
No ID or phone number — email-only sign-up, with USDT cryptocurrency payment supported. Our servers do not log your connection contents or the destinations you visit; the client is fully open source under GPLv3, so its behavior is auditable.
Go to the account console and click "Reset subscription link" — the old link stops working on all devices immediately. Then re-import the new link on your own devices.
Installing over the top occasionally leaves stale files behind. The fix: fully uninstall the old version, then install the new one and sign in again. Your account and subscription data live in the cloud — uninstalling loses nothing.
How to uninstall per platform: Android — long-press the icon and uninstall; Windows — Settings → Apps; macOS — drag Verstro from Applications to the Trash; Linux — sudo apt remove Verstro (or your package manager's equivalent). Then reinstall following the guide for your platform.
